Michelle to present at the The IHA Governance Forum
ichelle Rathaman will present at the upcoming Iowa Hospital Association Governance Forum on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the West Des Moines Sheraton.
The Art of Building More Meaningful Community Stakeholder Groups, Reestablishing Community Relevance and Strategies to Increase Community and Patient Engagement
This session will provide an insightful breakdown of the differences between unrequited outreach and mutual engagement. Attendees will explore an honest, holistic and practical approach to tackling the subjects of outmigration (local patients who leave to receive even the most basic health care services elsewhere) and aversion (those who never have or are most likely to avoid interaction.) The session faculty will also introduce attendees to proven strategies that hospitals use to turn their community health needs assessments into initiatives and concrete population health activism.
• Demonstrate learned strategies to transform community health needs assessments into initiatives and concrete population health activism.
• Examine new internal communications programs and platforms designed to engage employees and promote a higher level of care, quality and service.
• Analyze current community outreach efforts and explore strategies to enhance and derive more value.
• Identify practical opportunities to engage with community businesses and organizations with more purpose and structure.
